Australia’s wine-producing areas are incredibly varied. The Yarra Valley is Victoria’s oldest wine region with over fifty wineries open for tastings and sales. The region specializes in sparkling wines, Chardonnay and Pinot, with an impressive range for full-bodied Shiraz and ‘Cab Savs’.

McLaren Vale is renowned for its Shiraz, Grenache and Mourverdre, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Merlot also grown. White wine varieties include Chardonnary, Semillon, Reisling and Sauvignon blanc.

The Hunter Valley yields more than 100+ wineries and cellar doors specializing in Chardonnay, Semillion and Shiraz. Sample new generation wines like Verdelho or Chambourcin!

Arrive MelbourneOn arrival in Melbourne, clear Customs and Immigration and make your way to the Arrivals Hall, where you will be met and transferred to your accommodation for a four night stay. This evening, join the Colonial Tramcar at Tram Stop Number 125 Normanby Road to board the historic Tramcar for a delightful and innovative approach to dining. Cruise through the scenic streets of Melbourne enjoying a seasonal menu accompanied by quality Australian wines or a selection of beverages from the fully stocked bar. These glossy, burgundy restaurants on wheels offer a culinary delight and a trip into a little piece of Victoria’s history.

Day 4
Melbourne (B, D)

MelbourneJoin this indulgent morning walk through Melbourne’s beautiful back streets, and get orientated in the life of the city that locals love. Discover artisan and specialty retailers, and see quirky cafes, independent designers, street art, architecture and learn of historic tales in these walkways. Soak in the city via all your senses and engage with passionate creatives. There is something for everyone. Morning tea is included before a bistro lunch with a glass of wine. Get orientated and return to those places you like best in the afternoon, at your leisure.

Day 5
Yarra Valley Wine Tour (B, L)

Yarra Valley Wine TourEnjoy a full-day wine tour of the Yarra Valley. Visit to Punt Road Wines where the cellar door staff will share with you some of their award winning wines. The winery has a rich history and is the ideal place to sample a selection of exciting wines that reflect the personality of the Yarra Valley. Travel to Balgownie Estate, one of the most stylish venues in the Yarra Valley with wines to match, and enjoy lunch with a glass of Balgownie Estate wine to compliment your meal. After lunch travel to Yering Farm Vineyards, a charming boutique winery. Experience wines made with traditional wine making methods in their cellar door which showcases antique copper wine making tools used by pioneer winemakers over a century ago – a fantastic environment to enjoy superb wines. Next, visit French Champagne company Moet and Chandon’s Australian production house – Domaine Chandon. The perfect way to finish the day with a guided tour through the winery which shows how the wine is made, followed by a relaxing glass of Australia’s best bubbly and a view that will leave you in awe.

Day 6
Great Ocean Road (B)

Great Ocean RoadStart your day with a scenic drive south west of Melbourne and onto spectacular views of the Southern Ocean known as the Surf Coast. Arrive at Split Point Lighthouse for a photo opportunity and coffee break (own expense). Wildlife in the area depending on the season may include whales, dolphins, kangaroos, echidnas and many different birds. Arrive at Apollo Bay for lunch (own expense), then see koalas and kangaroos up close on the Eucalyptus Forest Walk at the renowned Great Ocean Road Ecolodge. Then visit the spectacular Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge, the site of the most famous 19th century Australian shipwreck.

Melbourne – Adelaide (B)

Day 9
McLaren Vale Food and Wine (B, L)

McLaren Vale Food and WineTravel through the scenic Hills via the picturesque town of Clarendon to Coriole winery. Coriole’s cellar door is a beautiful little ironstone cellar surrounded by magnificent views and gardens. They produce an outstanding range of wines, olives, olive oils, and cheeses with some exceptional wine styles unique to their winery. We may visit other small producers and enjoy this regions highlights, local foods and wine, of this exciting region. We visit winery’s such as Samuels Gorge, d’Arenberg winery, Wirra Wirra and more boutique wineries. We work out what clients wine interests are tailor the individual tour to suit. We tastes olives and cheese of the Blessed Cheese trail.

Day 10
Adelaide – Kangaroo Island (B, L, D)

Adelaide_Kangaroo IslandTransfer to Adelaide Airport for your short flight to Kangaroo Island. Upon arrival, an Exceptional Kangaroo Island vehicle will pick you up from the airport to commence a two day Kangaroo Island In Style tour. Stroll through a eucalypt forest spotting koalas snoozing overhead. Travel through some of the Island’s best farming country to the North Coast. Visit the habitat of the world’s rarest cockatoo and seek out wallabies and kangaroos in the wild. After a delicious seafood barbecue lunch, visit Seal Bay where you can walk amongst the Australian Sea Lions with your guide. Explore more of the island before being set down at your accommodation. Dinner is included this evening.

Day 11
Kangaroo Island – Adelaide – Sydney (B, L)

Kangaroo Island_Adelaide_SydneyAfter breakfast travel to Flinders Chase National Park, which provides a breeding habitat for the rare Cape Barren Goose and is also home to a wide variety of wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, possums, goannas, echidnas, koalas, platypus and a myriad of bird species. Visit Remarkable Rocks, huge natural granite sculptures, Admirals Arch a spectacular coastal grotto and a New Zealand fur seal colony before enjoying an elegant picnic lunch in the bush. In the afternoon sample more of Kangaroo Island before departing on your return flight to Adelaide and connecting flight to Sydney. On arrival in Sydney, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a four night stay.

Day 12
Essential Sydney (B, L)

Essential SydneyExplore Sydney on a 5-hour tour that includes a comprehensive city tour, lunch at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia in Rushcutters Bay, and a visit to Bondi Beach. In Sydney, see highlights including the historic Rocks district, Royal Botanical Gardens, Parliament House, Hyde Park Barracks, St Mary’s Cathedral, Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. You’ll also drive through Woolloomooloo, Kings Cross, Oxford Street and the suburbs of Paddington, Double Bay, Rose Bay, Vaucluse and Watsons Bay, enjoying informative commentary along the way.

Day 13
Hunter Valley (B, L)

Hunter ValleyDeparting from the city, travel north over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. First stop is at the Australia Reptile Park, where in a delightful setting surrounded by kangaroos, wallabies and pademelons, you enjoy morning tea/coffee and time to visit with the native Australian Animals. Departing from the Park, travel directly via the freeway to the Hunter Valley, which is nestled in the lee of the Great Dividing Range. 180 years young, this is Australia’s oldest and best known wine region and is soaked in history. It’s a dynamic and fascinating area that brims with over 150 top class wineries, 65 indulgent restaurants as well as gourmet produce and boutique breweries. Your first visit is to a 5 star winery in the Mount View region of the Hunter Valley, a well renowned viticulture area. Sample exquisite wines in your own private area. From here continue to Leogate Estate. This opulent cellar door is the perfect place to enjoy that unique taste which only the Hunter Valley and their award winning wines can provide. All wines produced from the great vines of one of the most highly regarded vineyards in Australia. Here you will enjoy a selection of cheeses to accompany the wine tasting, followed by a tour of the onsite winery to learn of the wine making process. On conclusion of the tour, enjoy a relaxing 2 course lunch (selection of platters, followed by dessert of choice) accompanied by a glass of wine. Further beverages can be purchased at own expense. After lunch, enjoy a stop at the Hunter Village where here you have the options of visiting the Chocolate Shop for sampling and perhaps a decadent purchase or two, explore the boutique shops or enjoy a final wine tasting at the local Cellar Door. From here commence the return journey to Sydney.

SydneyA free day to experience Sydney at your leisure, and explore the Opera House. The Sydney Opera House is one of the most iconic buildings in the world. Step inside and discover the extraordinary stories of this vibrant performance space, steeped in culture and history. Then relax by the harbour in true Sydney-sider style, as you enjoy Australian-inspired cuisine at Opera Bar.
